Today we read in the Bible about how when Moses was up on Mt. Sinai receiving the 10 commandments, the people had Aaron make them a golden calf to worship. When Moses came down from the mountain and discovered this, he threw the calf into the fire, melted it down and then ground it into powder. He then threw the powder into the water and made the people drink it.
The curriculum we are using suggested making peanut butter play dough that the kids could first shape into a calf and then eat as the Israelites had done. Sounds like fun, right?
As you would imagine, the dough was a bit sticky. :) None of them was able to make a calf, but J did stick with the Bible theme and got creative. E just got messy and R enjoyed the eating.
