Today the girls and I went to a 3 year old birthday party. They had a great time of course and experienced a new first... face painting! E watched probably 7 kids go before her so she was all set and ready and chose to be painted as a cat. She sat well through it (although she said it tickled) but then I thought we might have a melt down when the lady was done and showed her the mirror. E clearly was not expecting to see herself look so different! She held herself together though and was soon happily playing again. She also really enjoyed showing the Daddy and the boys her face when she got home. :) I took a picture at that point but it had already been smudged a bit from being sweaty. You still get the idea.
R watched E get her face painted and then another child had a turn. When it came down to it, R was very hesitant about sitting in the chair. She held out her arm, agreeing to have a picture painted there instead of on her face. (A few other children also chose this option.) Her frog is also quite smudged by this point, but she was still very happy with him.
Other activities at the party included bubble wands, cotton candy, a Castle Bounce House, and balloon creations. E came home with a blue cat (who already had one eye popped) and R had a frog on a lily pad (whose mouth had popped). My girls picked their theme and stuck with it I guess! :)
