To conclude our 4 weeks of studying Mercury, we made our first ever salt dough model - Do you like all the craters?
This past week, we began our study of Venus. Venus is "HOT, HOT, HOT!" and has many volcanoes on its surface. Using butter, flour, and a small dish, the children saw how rock (butter) is hard when it is cold, but when heated, becomes a liquid. When it erupts out of a volcano, the melted rock (lava) spills down the side making streams. Then, after a while, it hardens again into rock.
