More room switching

There's never a dull moment in our home!

Last night we executed ANOTHER room switch.  Now some people put a kid in a bedroom and that is always their bedroom until a new house is bought/moved into or the kid graduates and goes off to college.  But that would be way too boring in our house.  :)

For the record... the girls now share the bunkbed room.  This adjustment has gone pretty well.  Not perfect, but overall we are pleased.  There have been a few nights here and there were they are talking/giggling/singing (in their beds and in the dark) a good hour plus past bedtime, but those aren't the norm.  And it has created some new bonds between the sisters which is sweet to see.

P was still in the nursery and J was in the other kid bedroom.  Rest time saw J in our room and E in J's room with R in the bunk bed.  (Are you confused yet?)

Seeing as baby T will be here in just a couple of months, we decided to make the switch to a 'big kid' bed and out of the crib.  This began last night.

So last night I was quite the busy bee moving things around and making the other kid room 'baby proof' for a newly out of his crib little boy.  (Okay, he's a baby... I know everyone else still sees it, too and with each kid the 'baby' seems to stay the baby longer.  It's an odd adjustment to make when there is another one on the way.  But I digress.)

Last night went about as we had expected.  Which wasn't great in my opinion.  The poor child was put to bed and cried for a good 20 minutes.  Then he intermittently cried for another 15 minutes.  But he did settle down and go to sleep.  On his bed?  Of course not!  That would be silly.  He went to sleep on the floor.  Right by the door.  Poor baby.  :(

So when Big J and I were headed to bed, we went in to move him onto his bed.  This set off another few minutes of tired crying but he did sleep on the bed the whole night.

Until this morning.  Until the girls woke up and E came out to go to the bathroom.  This was just before 7am.  I usually don't get P up until 8am.  Yeah, that totally isn't going to work anymore.  (And yes, I was aware that this would be the case.)

So both his morning nap and now his afternoon nap are punctuated with intermittent crying.  He definitely understands that this is his new room and he is supposed to sleep.  But he doesn't have to like it!  Or so he keeps telling us.  Prayers for a quick acceptance to the change are much appreciated!  It makes this Mommy sad to hear her baby sad.  :(

As for the other kids... J thinks it is great that he is 'responsible' enough to be in the nursery with the big queen sized bed for both bed time and rest time.  (He will eventually be sleeping at night with P but we aren't sure exactly when that's going to happen.)  E is now taking rest time in our room and she is just as excited about the new arrangement as J.  Now if only we could get P on board.

Oh and I don't have any pictures for this post (yet) either.  Last night was a bit busy with all the making ready preparations and it never crossed my mind to bring up the camera.  Maybe tonight that will happen.  Maybe.
